Naa Akwetey
ECONOMIST, BUSINESS CONSULTANT AND MENTOR

Naa Akwetey is an MIT-trained Economist, Business Consultant, Mentor, and Operational Excellence enthusiast, with cross-cultural academic and professional experiences from Ghana, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

Naa holds two degrees – Bachelor of Science in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Management Science (Finance concentration) – from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While at MIT, she worked as a research analyst with Prof. Roberto Rigobon and Prof. Alberto Cavallo on the Billion Prices Project (BPP), an academic initiative that uses prices collected from hundreds of online retailers around the world on a daily basis to conduct research in macro and international economics. She was recruited to join PriceStats – the business arm of the BPP – when it was founded in 2011 in partnership with State Street Global Markets. She was inducted into the Sigma Xi Honor Society upon graduation for work with the BPP. Naa also holds a Master of Science Degree in Risk and Stochastics from the London School of Economics and CFA Level 1 certification.

Naa currently works as the Global Head of Finance for Mutti & Pricing at mPharma, a multiple award-winning, venture-backed technology-driven healthcare company headquartered in Ghana and operational in Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. She previously held the position of Head of Finance for West Africa for the same company. She is responsible for strategy and pricing for the company’s portfolio of products across all countries. Prior to joining mPharma, she worked as an Economist with KPMG UK’s Transfer Pricing Team and as Finance Manager for Fio Enterprises Limited, one of Ghana’s leading distributors of Fast Moving Consumer Goods.

Naa is passionate about giving back to the community and dedicates her time to volunteer for various charities and non-profit organisations as well as mentor middle school and high school students on personal and career development.

Naa is a Christian and staunch kingdom builder and is committed to using her talents to serve God with the highest standards of excellence. In 2016, Naa was appointed as part of a 7-member team to head the affairs of Action Chapel UK’s Young Adults ministry under the leadership of Jude Addo, and according to the vision of Senior Bishop Dick Essandoh. She serves as a personal assistant to Bishop Essandoh.

She is also the CEO of Amani Events Limited, a premium events consulting, and coordinating company that is centered on excellence.
